Netball is one of the most popular participation sports in Australia, especially among women and girls, and Suncorp Super Netball is widely regarded as one of the strongest netball leagues in the world. Its broadcast arrangements are changing: after several seasons with the Foxtel Group, netball moves to Nine from 2027.
The 2026 season
In 2026, every Suncorp Super Netball match was available live on Foxtel, Kayo Sports and BINGE. Sunday matches and the entire finals series were free on Kayo Freebies, which needs only a free Kayo account. Other matches needed a Foxtel or Kayo subscription.
From 2027: Nine, 9Now and Stan Sport
Nine Group won Netball Australia's broadcast rights, with the deal starting on 1 January 2027. Nine has said it will build netball into its sport line-up alongside other sports it covers. Under the deal, matches will be shown on the 9Network, the free 9Now app and Stan Sport. Nine's announcement described it as building the home of Australia's biggest participation sports and women's sport.

The Diamonds
The Australian Diamonds are one of the most successful teams in world netball, with multiple Netball World Cup titles. Test series and tournaments such as the Constellation Cup against New Zealand are covered under Netball Australia's broadcast arrangements. From 2027, check Nine's coverage.
The teams
Super Netball has eight teams: Adelaide Thunderbirds, Giants Netball, Melbourne Mavericks, Melbourne Vixens, NSW Swifts, Queensland Firebirds, Sunshine Coast Lightning and West Coast Fever. Check the official site for any changes to the competition.
Going to the game
Super Netball matches are played in indoor arenas around the country. Buy tickets through the official Super Netball site or your team. Club memberships often include tickets and priority access to finals.
Grassroots netball
Many Super Netball fans also play. Netball Australia and the state associations have club finders on their websites if you want to get involved.

In 2026, Kayo Freebies made Sunday matches and the finals free with a free Kayo account, which suited many casual fans. From 2027, Nine's free-to-air coverage on the 9Network and 9Now will be the main free option, with Stan Sport the subscription home for every match. Why the move matters
Moving netball to a free-to-air network is expected to bring the sport to a wider audience. Netball has a huge participation base in Australia, and free coverage makes it easier for young players and their families to follow the national league.
