Cricket is the soundtrack of the Australian summer. Cricket Australia's media rights are shared by the Seven Network and the Foxtel Group, so most of the home summer is available on Fox Cricket through Kayo and Foxtel, with the biggest matches also free on Seven.
The 2026-27 summer
Cricket Australia has released the schedule for the 2026-27 home summer, including Test, ODI and T20I series for the men's and women's teams. As announced:
- Tests and all women's internationals are on Seven and 7plus free, and on Foxtel and Kayo.
- Men's ODIs and T20Is against England are on Foxtel and Kayo only.
Check Cricket Australia's schedule for dates, venues and start times, and the broadcaster for each match.
Free-to-air: Seven and 7plus
Seven shows home Test matches live and free on Seven and the 7plus app, along with women's internationals and a large share of the Big Bash League. The free 7plus app streams Seven's coverage on smart TVs, phones and other devices for viewers in Australia.
Test cricket played in Australia is on the government's anti-siphoning list, and the 2024 list expanded coverage of women's cricket and the Ashes.
Every match: Fox Cricket on Kayo and Foxtel
Fox Cricket is shown on Foxtel and Kayo Sports. It carries every match of the home international summer and every BBL match, including those not shown on free TV. Kayo streams with monthly plans. Foxtel includes Fox Cricket in its sports packages.
The Big Bash League
The BBL runs through December and January. For BBL|16, every match is on Foxtel and Kayo. Thirty regular-season matches and all four finals are free on Seven and 7plus, while 10 matches are exclusive to Foxtel and Kayo. The schedule includes the return of Christmas Eve cricket. The Women's Big Bash League is played earlier in the season. Check the WBBL broadcast guide for free and paid coverage.
Radio: ABC Sport
Cricket on the radio is an Australian tradition. ABC Sport broadcasts cricket on ABC radio and the ABC listen app, with ball-by-ball commentary. Commercial radio also covers cricket. Radio is ideal for listening at work, in the car or at the ground.
Watching at the ground
Major Test venues include the MCG, the SCG, the Gabba, Adelaide Oval, Perth Stadium and Bellerive Oval. Buy tickets through Cricket Australia's official ticketing. The Boxing Day Test at the MCG and the New Year Test at the SCG are highlights of the summer when they are scheduled.
Away tours
When Australia tours overseas, rights are sold by the host country's cricket board, and the Australian broadcaster can be different from the home summer. Check Cricket Australia and the broadcasters before each tour.
Following the summer
- Download the official Cricket Australia app for scores, schedules and news.
- Check Seven's guide to see which matches are free.
- If you want every ODI, T20I and BBL match, consider Kayo for the months you need.
- Use ABC radio when you are away from a screen.
Avoiding spoilers
A day of Test cricket runs for hours, and many fans follow it in bits. Streams can run behind TV and radio, so mute score notifications if you are watching on delay.
